DANKO JONES Interviewed By NIKKI SIXX (Audio)
January 27, 2011DANKO JONES frontman and namesake was interviewed on a recent edition of "Sixx Sense", the new national radio program hosted by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx. You can now listen to the chat below.
DANKO JONES recently released the second in the soon-to-be music video trilogy from the album "Below the Belt" (Bad Taste Records/Caroline). The new highly-stylized, film-like music video noir for the track "Had Enough" stars Ralph Macchio ("The Karate Kid"),comedian Don Jamieson ("That Metal Show") and is the prequel to "Full of Regret". The video also features Frank Drank, best known for his recurring role as a Viking in the current Capital One ad campaign, reprising his role as Lemmy's henchman.
In "Had Enough", a "mad scientist" (portrayed by Macchio) has found a way to clone himself and the band of DANKO JONES is ordered off to deal with it. Their failure at the end of the video is what ultimately leads henchmen Frank and Lemmy to send Elijah and Selma after them in "Full of Regret".
"Full of Regret", described as "one-part 'Sabotage', one part Guy Ritchie, one part Quentin Tarantino," stars Elijah Wood and Selma Blair with featured guest appearances by Lemmy Kilmister (MOTÖRHEAD) and Mike Watt (MINUTEMEN, FIREHOSE, STOOGES). Shot in downtown Los Angeles, the video portrays Lemmy as a mob boss who hires hit men Elijah Wood and Selma Blair to take out the members of the band. Mike Watt plays the narrator as the action-packed story continues to unfold.
Hailed by SPIN as "the world's most entertaining hard rockers" and described by Maxim as "AC/DC sniffing glue with MÖTLEY CRÜE," Danko Jones (vocals/guitar),John Calabrese (a.k.a. J.C.; bass),and Dan Cornelius (drums) have relentlessly toured the world over. Sharing stages with everyone from hard rock icons MOTÖRHEAD and SEPULTURA to rock heavyweights GUNS N' ROSES and NICKELBACK to musical legends THE ROLLING STONES, the Toronto trio may very well be one of the best-, or worst-, kept secrets in music today.
